Summer is (almost officially here) the perfect time

to read those mysteries you’ve been waiting for.

I have two to recommend.  I am halfway through the first one

and my husband has read it, and the sequel.  We are not the only ones who like them.

The first book, The Caretaker, by A.X. Ahmad received a starred review from Booklist.

It is available in trade paperback and the sequel is coming soon in hardcover.

If you are looking for a good literary mystery, look no further.

These stories also have a bit of a fish-out-of-water element too; the main character is an illegal

alien in the US who just happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
