Ampersand Pubs Dominated at Forest of Reading!

May 20, 2014 | by

Okay, okay… maybe “dominated” is too strong a word. But we’re super proud of our publishers!
The Ontario Library Association’s Forest of Reading festival this week at Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre
saw more than 8,000 kids brave the rainy weather to cheer on their Forest picks, and not surprisingly,
a few of our kick-ass publishers came out on top!

Blue Spruce Award
Dave Whamond, Oddrey (Owlkids Books)

Silver Birch Express Award
Rebecca Upjohn; Renné Benoit, illus., The Secret of the Village Fool (Second Story Press)

Silver Birch Fiction Award
Robin Stevenson, Record Breaker (Orca Book Publishers)

White Pine Fiction Award
Lisa Harrington, Live to Tell (Dancing Cat Books)

Lise Dion; Liedewij Hawke, trans., The Secret of the Blue Trunk (Dundurn Press)

And, of course, congrats to the other publishers as well!
