Six of Crows

Hi guys!

I finished reading Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. I am not a huge fantasy fan, (please don’t judge).
I want to be, but when I see maps in the beginning of a book tend to shut the book and run
the other way. I don’t know what happened but somewhere along the way one of the ring Lords must have
rubbed me the wrong way. But, there was so much buzz in the office about this book, and about Bardugo
that I had to give it a go.

I forgave the first two pages, (not one, but two maps) and went head-first into the world of
Ketterdam. The main character Kaz Brekker swept me off my feet in his swift, fast-paced, unforgiving world.
I had to switch my brain from the slower, character driven books that I usually read to an action packed plot
whose characters unfolded and revealed themselves throughout the story. Much to my delight, it is the
constant action that the reader is plunged into from beginning to end that allowed me to discover the
depth of each character through their seemingly impossible endeavors and the choices they make. I grew to
love the characters as their idiosyncrasies were revealed, making their relationships and decisions a perfect
mix of predictable and unpredictable. I was kept on my feet guessing what was going to happen next because
Bardugo meticulously reveals just enough to let me in on some, but not all secrets.
My conclusion is that I’m now a fan and I want to read more! As it seems, I am in very good company:
