Hi guys!

I’m starting to read A Gathering of Shadows,

the second book to A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab.

A while back Dani wrote about A Darker Shade of Magic in her blog post and I totally agree with her when she talks about how immersive the story is. I read the first book right before bed and had dreams about my veins turning black from dark magic (it was very VERY disturbing, lemmetellyou). Anyhow, some twisted part of me liked the thrill of becoming a dark lord in dreamland and I picked up the second book to read.

So far, so good! I found with the first books that it took me a while to build the world(s) of magic in my mind (because when one reads before bed, one tends to pass out fairly quickly)…but once they were solidified I didn’t want to leave! Now I’m following Kell and Delilah in the aftermath of the first book and getting set up for another adventure filled with vengeance, love, jealousy, loyalty, and of course, magic.
