Let’s set the scene for the day Dot and I spent driving around
Vancouver with a little music:

After meeting at the Ampersand offices, we hit the open (and rainy) road,
crossing two bridges to reach 32 Books in North Vancouver.

Their Canterbury Classics shelf was gorgeous (and chromatic!)

Next we tootled down to Gourmet Warehouse on Hastings in East Van.
Sorry foodies, I forgot to take any pictures! Needless to say it is a wonderland
of amazing kitchen treasures and you should go there ASAP!

After East Van, we went as west, waaaay west, to UBC.

Check out all of those Decomposition Books! It was stationery heaven.

Staying on campus, we zipped over to the Museum of Anthropology
where we got a guided tour of the exhibits courtesy of Deborah from
the museum’s amazing gift shop.

Pairing Chronicle’s “50 Ways to Wear a Scarf” with Garfinkel’s Native Northwest scarves makes for an inspired display.

After a much needed stop to refuel (shawarma being our late lunch of choice),
Dot and I made it to Hager Books in Kerrisdale.

A pyramid of books in Hager’s window welcomes book fanatics and casual browsers alike.

It was a great day visiting literary Vancouver and my driving buddy
made it even more wonderful. I’ll miss you, Dot!
